Next Generation Corridor Equipment Pool Committee

Amtrak recently established the Next Generation Corridor Equipment Pool Committee, comprised of representatives of Amtrak, the Federal Railroad Administration, host freight railroad companies, passenger railroad equipment manufacturers, interested States, and other passenger railroad operators. The Committee was formed to design, develop specifications for, and procure standardized next-generation corridor equipment.

Attached is a copy of Amendment #1 to the AASHTO PRIIA Section 305 NGEC Request for Proposals (PDF) that includes answers to offerors’ (bidders’) questions.

Please note that offers (proposals) must be sent by email to the attention of Strat Cavros at scavros@aashto.org NLT 4PM EDT, April 26, 2012. Five (5) printed copies of technical and cost volumes must also be received by Mr. Cavros by this due date and time.  Printed copies should be sent to:

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials invites offerors (bidders) to submit offers (proposals) to this Request for Proposals for the Passenger Rail Investment and Improvement Act (PRIIA) Section 305 Next Generation Equipment Committee (NGEC) Equipment Ownership, Maintenance, Management related topics. The NGEC represents Amtrak, FRA, and participating states.

Questions of a technical or contractual nature about the contents of this RFP are due no later than the COB April 12, 2012 to the attention of Mr. Strat Cavros, AASHTO Contracts Manager, at scavros@aashto.org. AASHTO will strive to answer questions and post those answers on the NGEC and AASHTO websites as an Amendment to the RFP by April 19, 2012.

Offers must be sent by email to Mr. Strat Cavros NLT 4PM EDT, April 26, 2012. Five (5) printed copies of technical and cost volumes must also be received by Mr. Strat Cavros by this due date and time. Printed copies should be sent to:
